Terms of use
Last updated: June 16, 2026
Acceptance
By installing or using NailsGuard, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
License
NailsGuard is a one-time purchase. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on your own Macs, for your own personal use, under the terms of Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. You may not resell the app, redistribute it, or reverse engineer it except where the law expressly allows.
Purchase and refunds
NailsGuard is sold for a one-time price of €9 through the Mac App Store. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. Payment, receipts, and any refunds are handled by Apple according to the App Store's policies; please direct refund requests to Apple.
Requirements
NailsGuard requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later and a webcam (the built-in camera, an external webcam, or an iPhone via Continuity Camera). The app needs camera and notification permissions to do its job; you can grant or revoke these in System Settings at any time.
Your data
Everything NailsGuard does runs on your Mac. Camera frames are processed on-device and never leave it, and the only thing stored is local event statistics on your machine, which you can clear at any time. See the privacy policy for details.
Not medical advice
NailsGuard is a habit-awareness utility. It does not provide medical, psychological, or health advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional care. If nail biting or a related condition is affecting your health, please consult a qualified professional.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Detection relies on your camera, lighting, and on-device analysis, and it can miss bites or trigger on non-bites. NailsGuard is a nudge, not a guarantee. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of the app.
Changes
These terms may evolve with the app. Significant changes will be reflected on this page; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
